Description
Though the prickly pear, of the genus opuntia, grows wild in the American Southwest, favoring arid desert climes. It is often grown for its fruit, which I understand is delicious. Quite frankly, I have not tried it, and if I should be tempted to, I doubt I would enjoy getting close enough to reach a fruit and once I got it, I would not know what to do with it. But there are those who consider the pink fruit a delicacy. This colorful image is based on a photograph, transformed into a bold and colorful but spiney graphic image by digital processing.
